overviewThe challenge was to build a Wilier Triestina lighter than any before, and without in any way diminishing the strength and stability of the frame. Thus was born the Zero.7. The frame passes the 799 gram*mark and with a bottom bracket box so stiff that dispersion of power from pedaling is reduced to nearly zero. Years of experience working with professional cyclists has guided us in implementing technologies and design concepts that are not an exaggeration to call revolutionary. Now you can benefit from them with the Zero.7. And discover the thrill of pushing the limits of lightness without giving up anything.*Size M, Painted Zero.7 marks the implementation of an exclusive new Wilier Triestina technology: S.E.I. Film (Special Elastic Infiltrated). The injection of a proprietary viscoelastic film between layers of carbon increases vibration absorption and impact resistance, therefore making the frame safer and more comfortable. This new material has already been widely tested in the aeronautical and automotive industries with excellent results. It is now being applied in the construction of bicycles for the first time. S.E.I. Film benefits:
BB386EVO is the new Wilier Triestina - FSA designed integrated bottom bracket. The box that contains the BB is wider than most at 86.5 mm, and has a diameter of 46 mm to accept a particularly light and stiff carbon crankset with a 30 mm aluminum spindle. Testing has shown that it increases stiffness by 30% and reduces dispersion of power to nearly Zero. It is also compatible with most prominent traditional cranksets. Taperd Head Tube - The top of the headtube measures 1”1/8 while the base is 1”1/4. This differentiation is slight, but it allows for an optimal balance of stiffness and maneuverability of the bike, while keeping a focus on lightness and comfort. Nanoparticle Treatment - To minimize the risk of breakage, we use a very low density Zinc Oxide nanoparticle epoxy resin in our composites. This resin also makes the carbon more compact by filling in the microscopic spaces between the fibers more thoroughly. 60 Ton Carbon - The perfect balance between stiffness, comfort, and strength comes from a well selected combination of carbon fibers with different properties. In the Zero.7 frame, the most stressed parts are reinforced with the super-strong MR60H fiber, that can withstand 60 tons of pressure per square millimeter. This fiber allows us to obtain the desired stiffness while using less material, thereby reducing weight. THE SPECIES EVOLUTION The BB386EVO system takes the oversized bottom bracket design concept, which was successfully introduced by Wilier Triestina in the Cento1 model and subsequent variations, to its next evolution. To obtain an unprecedented stiffness at a crucial point of the frame, we have devised an innovative system that can perfectly incorporate an ultra-stiff crank into an ultra-stiff frame. The traditional BB30 system proved inadequate because it requires a frame with a 68 mm box, which is too narrow to deliver the degree of stiffness that we wanted. With this in mind, we developed the new standard BB386EVO in collaboration with FSA, which pairs a carbon crank with a longer 30 mm spindle and a wider 86.5 mm bottom bracket box BENEFIT
